BIG SKY

EVENTS

Recreation is what Big Sky is all about. It’s what drew the first outdoor enthusiasts here in the early 1970s, and what still brings folks out today for vacations and well-rounded living.

Open Lands Month Begins - July 1

  • Time: July 1 to July 31
  • Location: State-Wide
  • Contact: Montana Association of Land Trusts
  • Website: montanalandtrusts.org
  • Details:

July 2015 is a month-long celebration of what open land means to our way of life and our economy. Across the state, people will honor all that open land represents: our agricultural heritage, vast outdoor recreational opportunities, clean water, diverse wildlife habitat, scenic splendor, tremendous economic benefits, vibrant tourism industry, freedom to roam and so much more.Participation is broad and a-political: from the Red Ants Pants Music Festival to the Governor's Cup Walleye Tournament, from a special "Round Up for Open Land" initiative in Big Sky.

Montana’s amazing landscape is vital to our communities:

it offers us the spaces that keep us sane when the going gets tough,

it attracts visitors that feed our economy,

it’s the place we play with our families,

it’s the benefit our businesses don’t have to include in payroll.

Please like the FB page and help spread the word!
