    The Big Sky School District is sponsoring a diverse line-up for free lectures during the off-season this October and November. MSU professor, Shane Doyle, a Crow Indian and founder of Native Nexus, a company that helps implement Indian Education for All in Montana. Doyle is a singer, drummer and Native American Studies teacher at MSU and a co-auther of the Nature paper about the genetic findings at the famours Montana Clovis Anzick archaeological site. All of the talks are free and open to the public.

    The Big Sky & Greater Yellowstone Visitor Information Center will be hosting The Great Pumpkin Giveaway on Saturday, October 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Bring your preschool, elementary school and middle school aged kids to the visitor center and pick up a FREE pumpkin, enjoy some apple cider and Halloween treats and take some great fall pictures with your family.

    Harvey Mudd Professor, Arthur Benjamin is the creator of the television show Mathemagics. He is also featured on the Great Courses for his Mathemagics course, where he does complex computations in his head in seconds. Benjamin, who was educated at Carnegie Mellon and earned his doctorate in math at Johns Hopkins, is a dynamic math educator and will showcase and teach his methods in his talk on Friday, November 14.  All of the talks are free and open to the public.

Military Appreciation Weekend at Big Sky Resort - December 12

    Those interested in reserving accommodations in the slopeside Huntley Lodge can call Big Sky Central Reservations and mention the discount and present their ID at the front desk upon checking in. The Huntley Lodge discount is for double occupancy and includes a free daily breakfast buffet. Each additional person is $25 per person per night.

Christmas Stroll - December 12

    The annual Big Sky Christmas Stroll will take place on Friday, Dec. 12 with a tree lighting at 5:30 p.m. Afterwards, Santa will take pictures with kids. Many businesses in Town Center and the Meadow Village Center will have open houses, sales and activities. There will also be a beer stroll at Lone Peak Brewery.
