    For 40 years, the Grammy award winning Kronos Quartet—David Harrington, John Sherba (violins), Hank Dutt (viola), and Sunny Yang (cello)—has pursued a singular artistic vision, combining a spirit of fearless exploration with a commitment to continually re-imagining the string quartet experience. In the process, Kronos has become one of the most celebrated and influential groups of our time, performing thousands of concerts worldwide, releasing more than 50 recordings of extraordinary breadth and creativity, collaborating with many of the world’s most intriguing and accomplished composers and performers, and commissioning more than 800 works and arrangements for string quartet. In 2011, Kronos became the only recipients of both the Polar Music Prize and the Avery Fisher Prize, two of the most prestigious awards given to musicians. The group’s numerous awards also include a Grammy for Best Chamber Music Performance (2004) and “Musicians of the Year” (2003) from Musical America. Tickets are $20 to $65.

    International Guitar Night founder Brian Gore will be joined by three of Europe's finest acoustic guitarists: Gypsy Jazz legend Lulo Reinhardt, contemporary fingerstyle innovator Mike Dawes and multi-genre showman Andre Krengel. Lulo has expanded on the legacy of his grand-uncle Django with Latin-flavored rhythms and melodies, while Mike's lightning-speed and deft tapping and percussion were among the highlights of last year's IGN tour. Andre is a master of many styles from flamenco to swing to modern ballads and he is a frequent collaborator with Lulo in Germany. The quartet will be recording a live album while on tour this fall in Europe. Ticket prices will be announced soon.

    Kishan Shah is a healer practicing Ayurvedic Holistic Medicine, Lecturer, Teacher of Yoga, Meditation and Kalarippayat Martial Arts based in Los Angeles. He has trained extensively in India from the Himalayas with Swami Govindananda, in Mysore with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois to Kerala with Lino Miele. His primary influences on the method of practice are within the lineages of Sri T. Krishnamacharya and Sri Swami Sivananda Saraswati Maharaj and through his living teachers Vaidya Parla Jayagopal and Gurukkal C.M. Sherif. Kishan has been trained and heavily influenced by Shiva Rea and assisted her internationally for six years. He teaches his Raja Vinyasa Yoga classes in Venice, California and leads workshops, trainings and retreats worldwide. He has been featured in Yoga Journal, Whole Life Times, Yogi Times, Details, and Allure Magazines. Born to an Indian father and an American mother, Kishan blends both ancient Eastern and modern Western scientific, cultural and philosophical ideas of spiritual evolution into his practice. Drink from the cup of the ancient masters with a 21st century kick. Workshop times include: Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

    Join Santosha Wellness Center for a weekend workshop in Big Sky with Kishan Shah, healer practicing Ayurvedic holistic medicine, lecturer, and teacher of yoga meditation and kalarippayat martial arts based in Los Angeles. This workshop begins on Friday, February 19th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with The Detox Practice, continues on Saturday, February 20th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with Raja Vinyasa or Patanjali Yoga Sutras in Theory & Practice and finishes on Sunday, February 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with Sankaloa Sadhana or A Call to Awakening. Join Santosha Wellness Center and Kishan Shah for a wonderful weekend of yoga. Cost for the entire weekend is $130. Santosha's early bird special allows you to experience the entire weekend for $110 for those who register by Tuesday, February 9th.
